I think Mixed People Should be to Allowed to Identify as “Mixed”.

It benefits the identity of the black and mixed community,

Mixed people are often used as the “palatable black person.”

Every mixed achievement becomes a “black achievement” to the black community, but then there is anger towards mixed people for taking up black spaces.

This sends two messages:

• 1) blackness is not enough. In order to be a successful black person you must be mixed or at least present as mixed.

• 2) mixed people MUST represent blackness at all times.
