My best friend lives in LA

And this was my first time visiting her and this insane city!

My best pal Brooke and I have been friends since forever, fun fact! Our moms were actually pregnant together. Brooke moved out to LA around 8 years ago and this was my first time visiting her and the city.

We packed a lot into the 5 days I was there, and had the best time doing it! Follow along on our shenanigans and at the end I will add in our itinerary in case you want to duplicate our trip!

Day one / Airport chic

Catch ya later Toronto!

I always like to dress comfy, cozy and cute for the airport so this set from Urban Planet was perfect! My flight was delayed an hour (bummer) but I was ready for a quick nap once I got on the plane!

Once landed I headed over to Brooke’s apartment for a chill night in featuring some rose and an ETB (early to bed) since we had a serious few days planned.

Pro tip: I always like to bring a small token/ gift to the host or hostess when staying at someone’s place or even just going for a dinner! I grabbed a great coffee table book from Indigo along with a cute card to show my appreciation for Brooke and her boyfriend hosting me for the few days I was in LA!

First day in LA

Our first day was a busy one!

We woke up bright and early to get our first full day in LA started, beginning with Runyon Canyon Park. It was such a gorgeous day and this walk was a mild struggle for me (I thought I was in shape but guess again.)

After the hike we headed over to Urth Caffe for a classic of Avocado Toast! It was worth the hype, I’m still dreaming of it. Running back to the apartment we changed into our Raptors gear! Go Raps go! Then headed over to LACMA to check out the famous lights outside the museum.

After a quick nail appointment we headed over to Barney’s Beanery to watch the game. The game was amazing, Raptors won and we were pumped!

After the game, being very excited from the win, we changed fast and headed over to Tom Tom for a drink then to the Doheny Room for some dancing.

For a first day in LA it was jam packed with great food, a workout, a tourist spot and some dancing and I call that a win!

Day two / Beverly Hills

Hungover but killing it.

So waking up a little hungover, we still had a pretty packed day and we were not gunna let a little headache stop us. For our first stop of the day we went to the Beverly Hills Hotel, Cabana Cafe, for our brunch. We each got a burger ($$$) but seriously worth it not going to lie.

Post lunch we headed over to Rodeo Drive to check out all the insanely beautiful stores and to walk off our hangover. We ended up walking over 10,000 steps which was fab!

Closing out our day we grabbed a quick drink at Soho house hollywood followed by the most delicious ice cream from Kith treats.

Falling into bed we grabbed a quick nap and then we’re ready to head out for the night. First stop was Craig’s for dinner! When we walked in the paparazzi room our photos (which was insanely hilarious) and we saw Alec Baldwin (he grazed my arm) and Kate Beckinsale (who is a true goddess).

Post dinner we went to Davey Waynes which plays 70s music and we danced the night away.

But what happened after the bar? We ended up finding an after hours “frat house” to grab a few drinks before calling it a night!

Day two was an insane success and I couldn’t have been happier.

Day three / Warner Brothers

Where all our nerd dreams came true!

To say I was excited to see the Warner Brothers studio lot is an understatement. Friends is my favourite show of all time, and sitting on THE couch was a dream come true. Warner Brothers also does all the DC movies, Harry Potter, and Ellen so we got to see the props which was very cool. The tour was for sure a giant highlight of my trip and our tour guide really let us know all about the history of the lot and we were able to learn a lot.

Day three also had my first In N Out experience and it was truly life changing. I don’t know how I went my full 26 years of my life without having it. But my god Canada NEEDS it here.

Day three ended on a chill note with us heading to Brooke’s home in Calibasas and another ETB since we were pretty tapped out.

Day four / Venice

Ready to get out beach on!

Brooke had a wedding on my fourth day so my close friend Maxie decided to show me around Venice! We did Abbot Kinney, and I had a delicious lunch at Kreation Kafe followed by some “Birding” which is an electric scooter and I LOVED IT!!

The day ended in Santa Monica at Barney’s Beanery (again) to watch the Raptors, and unfortunately they lost. For a quick night cap we headed to The Bungalow and then we called it a night!

Day five / my last day

Don’t want to leave!

For the final day we headed to Santa Monica in the morning to check it out and ride the Ferris Wheel and it didn’t disappoint. The view was beyond spectacular, followed by a delicious pretzel!

After Santa Monica we headed to Malibu to see the spectacular Getty Villa and honestly WOW. It is so gorgeous, the architecture and the art!

For my final dinner we went to Soho Malibu and then Brooke took me to the airport. Saying goodbye was hard but I know I will be back ASAP!

On the next page I added some additional photos from my last day.
